Updating your soft furnishings, adding some lamps & some plants can make a big difference to a tired space.
I was reluctant to replace these sofas as although they are 20yrs old and a little bit tired, they are functionally perfect & very well made. They also fit the space perfectly. So I decided to upcycle. I bought the pink fabric for €100, and had so much left over I also got a headboard & scatter cushions made for the bedroom.
I'm of the mind that you can never have too many plants. Some hanging, some trailing from shelves, some oversized in large pots, some mini ones for little nooks. Where possible you can't beat real plants, but there are some very convincing looking fake plants for where perhaps a real plant wouldn't be practical.
